When I think DI... I think of this

the picture is not due to being a DI motors its obviously from neglect idc how low the miles, too much dirt was allowed in that engine and lack of oil changes im sure, plus cylinder head design and porting from the factory these days are very good to help eliminate problems like this. i work inside new motors everyday and i have taken heads off anything from a 5 mile car all the way to a 70k mile car and have never ever seen anything that bad. just saying

Kinda nature of the beast for now. Besides you are supposed to trade them in at 99,999.9 before they fall apart and just have car payments forever and ever so we can keep the air clean and save trees and crap like that. So if we keep em traded in we have clean air and the next poor SOB who buys it after that has to worry bout the problem.

mini specs either 10 or 15K intervals on oil changes, but run a standared 5w30 oil or something like that.
I really like the new trucks but for the price they are asking, i should be able to go 200k miles with out worriing about **** like this.
my old 99 is well over 200k and still going strong. my dads quadrasteer sierra denali is over 300 now with no issues.

I agree with RacinRust here, 3-4k oil changes and a catch can are cheap insurance. I will add that the pcv system on these Gen5 v8s is supposed to be a vastly improved to combat this issue, but time will tell I suppose.
