One of the things that trips me out about my 2014 is it turns on the a/c seats if it's real hot, or the heated seats if it's real cold, when you remote start it. It will also run the air conditioner. So when it's super hot or cold just hit the remote start and take your time. By the time you get in it's nice inside.

I like buying used fully loaded cars and trucks. Let someone else take the hit then drive the wheels off it. Then when it comes time to sell it somebody is more likely to buy a cheap loaded truck with alot of miles than a little bit cheaper cloth seats truck that is tore up because the cloth doesn't hold up as well.

That's what I did, got a highly optioned SLT for $23,800 looked at the same truck new and it was 52k, funk dat. Worst case the motor or trans falls out and cost me a couple of thousand. I'm good with that, especially since I'm a tech and can swap em out at work in a day or so.

That 58 to 42 is the best I've heard of and yeah my truck was a really good deal, there aren't many in the nation for under 30 even with high miles. I'm not sure if this is correct but a buddy of mine called mine an SLT 4, because it has the crash avoidance, lane departure warning, ac and heated seats and all the bells and whistles.

I was upset at first because the truck had a brake vibration, a tire causing a pull, and the ac condenser was leaking, but the dealer I bought it from got me all new GM pads (it had cheap pads and I told them I would cut the rotors myself), a new condenser and pitched in on a set of tires so I was only out about $200 for all of it and essentially have a new truck.

The 52k truck would have been 42 because they had rebates of 10k at the time, but my most expensive vehicle at the time cost me 12k so I was having a hard time with paying 40-50k for one, worth it or not.

Now to continue convincing the wife to let me swap in a 6.2

Well said,i wish they offered a 6.2 in the LT or SLE ,I always believed with the best cheapest way to hot rod was to start with the biggest engine lowest gear.I do see guys doing very well with a 5.3 ,Gorski has opened my eyes with his approach,5.3 9-10 LBS procharger ,killer Klug tune, minor converter and a muffler to run a 12.6 on a decent evening.I like your angle, start with a killer buy on a used truck and then add cubes, well because you or myself can do our own labor.I am all about bang for the buck and I strive for HP TQ drive ability, fuel mileage and quiet until you drop the hammer.

Hey did you talk to spear tech?

Agreed man!

No man I haven't, i've been beyond slammed at the shop with my own work and I've had to do 2 engine jobs for one of our other shops too. I'm a one man show so I've been completely covered up. That's been in the last week and I also had to convert an 18 year old kid's room into a guest room for family we had in this past week along with taking them to every damn destination in dallas LOL

Hopefully this week I can make that call

I have been told the 5.3 to 6.2 is direct bolt in plug n play. Here is the quote:The 6.2 drops in like a 5.3 exactly. Will need to come complete with intec and throttle body. All other parts fit.
