Default Strong but low cost rims?

Aside from finding a used set of rims and tires, I'm looking to see what is out there for a low cost rim for my 2018 1500 Silverado that I ordered. I like to run a winter rim and tire, just because of the salt here in Ohio.

However, I need something strong. In the winter, I can often put a 2,000lb pallet of wood pellets in the bed. I don't want to have to worry about an aftermarket wheel not handling that weight and shock.

Any suggestions? I ask because I haven't had much luck finding OEM wheels around my area.

Would they be strong enough? I'm exceeding the rating of the truck as is with the 1 ton in the back

There is a set of Midnight Edition rims and tires, with lug nuts and TPMS with 25k miles on them for $950 near me. Not a scratch on them - everything looks new. Off a 2016 Silverado.

Not sure how that price is for a set?

Considering $950 is pretty much what a new set of tires would run you, that price for wheels included and perhaps halflife tires and TPMS sounds like a fair deal to me. That is, if you like the wheels.

I don't think the rims are terrible. They would be my winter set, so nothing fancy - the salt will get to them eventually. There is a set of regular 18" aluminum with tires listed for $600. Waiting to hear if they are new tires, if lug nuts and TPMS are included, etc.

If you don't find some OEM wheels look at OEwheelsllc

They make replicas but they are good quality. I've used them before and many others as well with great luck.

Maybe pick up 4 spares from the local junkyard?

The junk yards don't really seem to have much - or if they do, they don't have a full set of 4.

Craigslist has dried up. There are a few places near Detroit selling brand new take off wheels, tires, lugs, TPMS etc. but a little to rich for my blood - AND it's in Detroit....

I guess I should probably start pricing rims and then buy the sensors and tires separate. Again - these are winter rims and tires so the salt will chew these up. The catch is I need them to be very strong. I load up 1 ton of pellets in the truck at a time in the winter....the 1/2 truck isn't too happy but does okay. No more than a 20 minute drive at less than 50mph. I just don't want a cheap rim giving out. Not overly concerned with looks either.

Have you guys ever had a wheel failure from weight?

I would think hauling 2k lbs would be nothing for most wheels

I have not but when some of the suggestions are aftermarket rims, I'd rather do a little homework and make sure they aren't a piece of junk before spending some coin.
