Default Performance 17's

i have 22's on my truck now and i am thinking about swapping them out for some 17's. However i don't really know of any good performance tires or sizes that would be suitable for a 5400lb truck.

Does anyone have 17's with maybe a 55 or 50 series tire or should i make my way back to 20's?

I have been thinking the same thing, I wouldnt mind running the 17" tahoe star wheels. I doubt that would look good on such a high end truck like yours but i might be able to pull if off on my old crapper W/T! What options do we really have? Bogarts? I really just want to do it for the performance gains and the MPG. Looking forward to everyones responses.

Centerline wheels would probably be the best performance wheel but I have yet to see a GMT900 with 17s or 18s that looked proportionate to the huge wheel wells. I'd love to see one though. Still 25-30lb centerline 20s would be a huge improvement over the 35-40lb cast aluminum 20s and 22s.

I still want to get a set of the reproduction Ralley wheels in 6 lug (they make them) and put them on my truck.. It too is just a WT so i could pull it off and look like an old school type truck.. I want bigs and littles though, wide as hell in the back and about stock size in the front..

I posted a thread up asking if anyone thought they would look cool.. I plan to bag my truck once the turbo is installed.. Full frame from cowl back.. Wanna lay it on thes wheels while still keeping it driveable (hence the tall tire and not so tall wheel)

Think my truck would look good laying rocker on the old ralley wheels, thought about modding an old low back bench seat to have the but sensors for the airbags and putting that in there.. kind of make my truck a new version of the 80's trucks...

Those are awesome! I have some 17" Halibrand 6 beans on my truck right now but might look into these as well. I like to keep a little old school style on all of my new vehicles.
