Default New Truck! LMM Duramax *PICS*

Been looking for a replacement Diesel for my 08 Sierra Denali for a while and I came across this one, I checked out the truck and I bought it, I couldn't chance losing a deal like this.

It's an 07.5 Sierra 2500 Duramax Ext Cab, it's fully loaded on the inside with heated leather seats, nav, sunroof, adjustable pedals, sliding rear window, etc...

Some add-on's were:
DPF delete with 4" MBRP exhaust and a 5" tip
AFE intake
Edge Evolution CS tuner
Rear underseat storage and molded weathertech floor mats
Winter front cover
6000K HID low beam and fog lights
Powdercoated front and rear bumpers
Powdercoated factory rims with worn out tires, but he gave me 4 brand new ones.
Sprayed in box liner
2" rear wheel spacers
Wheel well liners
Front molded flaps
Partially debadged
Synthetic fluids in every hole
Full service records since the day it was bought.

I already swapped tail lights with my Denali, and I planned on leveling it out then adding rims and tires. Remove those running boards and finish pulling the badges off.

I was kind of torn which direction to go, I decided on dropping the rear to level and adding some big rims and tires. Instead of the usual front leveling kit on 18's or 20's with M/T's.

My trucks never go offroad, they're pavement pounders that occasionally pull a light trailer. Everyone around me jacks the trucks up, not my thing.

Pictures when I got it:

Only had it for 3 days and I installed a set of drop shackles for the rear and got some new dancing shoes.

Drop shackles were Belltech 6403 3" drop shackles, what a PITA that was!

Seized shackle bolts are now #1 on my hated list....

To clarify, 3" drop shackles are exactly 3" longer than stock but that's NOT the actual drop. At the start I was exactly 2.5" taller in the rear, now it's 1" higher. Which is fine because I occasionally pull a trailer and didn't want it lower in the back.

The rim's were "used" with under1000km on them, they weren't my first choice but I couldn't turn them down for the price I paid. Also pulled off the ugly chrome running boards.

The tires are 285/45r22 Falken Ziex S/T04 on 22" XD Monster wheels. The tires now rub at full lock in reverse, I think a little flap trimming will take care of that though.

The ride is 100x better now than with those Wrangler ST-R kevlar tires, they were like riding on cement wheels. I'll keep the stock powdercoated rims though and get a new set of tire for the winter.

I left the 2" wheel spacers in the rear, they do stick out a little more than the front but it's better that than tucked in further. I think it looks ok, I wish I could run a 1" or 1.5" spacer instead.

Onto the pictures...

I'm really satisfied with this truck, I can't believe how clean and good the paint is for being 5yrs old. It's pretty much just the way I want it... for now anyways.

What do you all think? Comments or suggestions?

I'd clear the headlights and black the GMC emblem and call it a day.

^ This. If it was mine I would probably try and bring it down an inch or two on all four corners, but otherwise I think it looks great.

A lowered deisel is badass. I've personally never seen one in person. Looks good though bud

Thanks guys, I still need it to be practical... The tires rub at full lock in reverse right now at this height, haha. I can't imagine going any lower.... I'm sure it would be slick though.

Headlights definitely need to be cleared, and I'll probably smoke the 3rd brake light.

Lose the front mud flaps. I know they protect the paint but they don't look good doing it. 1 inch lower would look so much nicer but I realize there are limitations. I put the same drop shackles on mine and with roughly 400 pounds of weight in the bed it sits like this:

The front is stock just with the bars let down some. I would love to go a little lower but the front just sits too wide and it rubs as is even with the fender mod.

I pulled back my fender liners and pushed them back a bit, not quite the "fender mod" but the tires don't rub at full lock anymore.

As for the flaps they're staying, maybe not those exact ones, but there will be a set of molded flaps on the front and rear.

I hate how they look, but I hate rock chips a lot more. Especially where I live there's tons of sand, rocks, and gravel on the roads... Even more in the winter.

At least you still have the running boards, they give you pretty good protection along the bottom. I'm not putting mine back on, but a set of AMP Research power steps are on my wanted list.

I also think I'm gonna swap the rear axle spacers, they're 2" right now and sit .5" - .75" wider in the rear, which looks kinda dumb to me. I heard I can get away with 1.5" if I trim the tips off of the wheel studs.
