Mid to high 90's ... maybe there's an air pocket on top? Thinking I should flip it around just to make sure it's purged all the time. This is also a 4L80E swapped truck so I wonder if the temp sensor has the same range as was in the 4L60E? Anyone ever check that? I did start it up this morning and the trans temp was exactly the same as ambient so I'm assuming it's the same spec.
Before the cooler, I do remember it going above 200 sometimes when really getting onto it when tuning and fooling around ... still a new project so that's been only a few times.

And no doubt someone will say " No it wont Ive don't it that way just fine" People tend to say that till they are sitting on side of the road with a cooked trans.

The fitting out of the trans cooler is the barbed fitting that came with the kit. The other end is of course the single barb type end that snaps into the stock cooler and held in by the wire clip. I made sure the hose was pushed over the barb and tightened the hose clamp after ... not sure what else to do as that seems to be the most secure it can be as of now.

Alright that's what I figured I would have to do just wasn't sure if the plastic grill would be sturdy enough to hold up without it. Thanks man

Got a bug in my *** and took it apart again and flipped it. Seems to run about 10° cooler but that was only local roads.

Edit... linger drive and max temps I saw were in the 150's ... engine runs at about 210 so the fact that the fluid passes through radiator first and then through the auxiliary cooler may actually hurt it?
