Default Cheatr V.3 in a LY5

I've just ordered my parts from Thunder Racing for my cam install.
So it's going to be the Cheatr V.3 cam 219/230 .607/.604 117 lsa
Patriot Dual Valve springs, Hardened PRs, DOD delete with LS7 lifters, Ti retainers, Dynatech 1 3/4" LT headers and the Hiflow catted Y pipe.
I'll install the Headers and Thunder Racing will do all of the rest including a dyno tune.
I'll post results afterwards. I'm posting this for guys like me who can't find alot of threads about the TR cheater cams.
If anybody else has any experience with a similiar set-up please chime in.
Also of note, I'm doing all of this with a STS turbo set-up coming later on.

prolly a 5.3 bc his sig doesnt have Vortec Max written in there.

on your 5.3 why such a huge split? you do realize that the only head that actually flows very well with a split like that is the L92 heads...if i was you id go with a
218/222 .600.604 114+2 or so...ya know....i would get a spec'd cam its the same cost. dont just go by what you see and you think will perform like you want.

just my .02 i love the way my truck runs N/A but i have a 6.2 so yeah...it's a lil different.

Yeah, it's going in a 5.3. The LY5 is the newest iron block 5.3. Yes I was a little concerned about the huge split in the cam but that is what the guys at Thunder Racing suggested for me after I told them what I wanted. I believe they installed the same cam in an 08 Z71 with similiar bolt-ons and got 339 rwhp. After all they probably know more than me.
If I don't like the cam, I can always put it in my CTS-V and just get a different one for the truck.
Yes it is true, I have no finacial worries, but I work like a MFer.

iamkeniff,

Do you have any turbo experience? If so, point me in the direction of a good front mount set-up.
Also, I'd like to keep it N/A, but I take road trips in this thing up in the mountains. I have to have boost. I took my CTS-V to Colorado last year and even with that large lunged LS6, she was gasping for air at 10,000 ft. lol

Is that LY5 holding up good on boost? How much boost are you running by the way?

I actually sent an email to comp cams, and this is the cam they recommended for my 5.3L. When you look it up on their web site is says for small displacement, heavy vehicles (4.8/5.3) Max torque.
