After seeing skipperdaddy's set-up I'm leaning towards a supercharger. If I went turbo, I'd probably go STS, the headers would not matter then. I think I might go supercharger though for that instant torque. Thanks for the help anyway.

Well I'm back, I'm sorry it took me so long.
I've been on vacation with the family.
We took the truck after I got it back from Thunder Racing and drove it up to Missouri in 100 plus degree weather and it did fine. I still have the stock thermostat and the temp needle never budged from 210 degrees.
The trans temps got up to 195 a few times in stop and go traffic.
As far as performance, my wife said that she was no longer afraid for me to pass people up on 2 lane roads.lol
No seriously, the 5.3 loves to rev now, the bottom end does feel a little softer however. I was not wanting to have to get a stall converter but I think I will now after driving the truck for a while. I will be getting new diff gears for sure! My truck now shifts out of second at 100 mph. I got 3.42s now, I'm seriously considering 3.90s.
Just to illustrate how it runs, The other night I stopped at a red light with an f-250 diesel and I figured we were gonna race. when the light turned green we both punched it, no brake stalling, just punch the gas. He jumped me bad out of the hole and and pulled me by about 1.5 truck lengths, but when my tach hit 3500 rpms I started to reel him in, by the time I hit second gear, I could see the f-250 in my rear view. I don't know what if any mods were on the f-250, he didn't want to stop and talk after I beat him. So you can see that I would benefit from some gears and a stall.
The shift points are set at 6200 RPMs however the engine feels like it will pull hard for another 500 rpms. We kept the shift points at 6200 to protect the tranny. With the higher rev range I think I could run 4.10 gears but I'm scared of my long driveshaft.
What do you guys think? What stall? I'm looking at the Yank Truck Thruster 2600 or 3000. By the way, my torque curve was shaped like the horizon, no dips or peaks. Very broad, I believe due to the 117 lsa.

Circle D 3200!!!! i drove that converter in my CC for 8k miles and i LOVED it. i was spinning to 6800 on 3:42s and stock 8' driveshaft. now i have 4:10s, a 2 peice driveshaft, and a 3600 converter.
your a scsb i wouldnt worry about the driveshaft. have it balanced and have fun. just dont dyno in 3rd gear on those 3:42s. if its a DD/Family ride, gas milage is a want, then id go 3:73/3:90s depending on what you want. my truck didnt gain anything from 3:42s to 4:10s 1/4 mile wise, but on the roll, and gas milage. i picked up 1.5mpg in city and lost .5mpg on the highway but i can live with that.

I have a 3000 Circle D and I love it. But do get a trans cooler. Drove up to Austin this past weekend. saw 20-22mpg @ 75MPH
City MPG will suffer with a stall..... but worth the performance gains
