Not to bump an old thread, but I was wondering what I would need to do to get my truck into the 13s. The catch? The tires and ride height would need to be left alone, and I'm not crazy about the idea of a stall or numerically higher gears. If I can knock out legitimate, on-the-street mid-13s with bolt-ons on a 6.2 CCSB 4x4 with 33s, I would be thrilled. That would put me in the running with some of the Mustang guys at work (as well as a few F-bodies) and help me forget about how I had to pass up on a Vette this year to replace my broken truck with a new one.

I would love to run similar times to his, but I would need to bump up the muscle a bit to compensate for the extra weight and off-road tires. A 13.5X-capable CCSB 4x4 would be perfect for terrorizing those around me

Strap a TVS1900 on it with headers and youre done. Boltons isnt going to get it done with those heavy tires youve got if you want mid 13s. A 13.9 with bolt ons might be possible in really good air but thats about it. Large tires really hurt times. I lost 2 tenths by just going up an inch in height and an inch in width.

have you seen anyone strap a tvs on and runs 12s ? one guy i think, seems easier said than done, seems the guys strapping 1900 on 6.2s are running mid 13s

Seems the old days guys were strapping on a radix on a sss and being in the 12s with some tweeking

with that said you would think a 6.2 with a tvs should plug n play low to mid 12s

He didnt say anything about 12s, said he wanted to run mid 13s on heavy 33s without going to a high converter or deeper gears, about the only way I know to do that without really digging into the motor is to strap a roots blower on top of it and currently the best roots blower out there for his app IMO is a TVS1900.

There arent many people with 6.2s and blowers right now so its a bit lop-sided comparison. I see no reason why a truck on normal tires with exhaust, good tune and a pullied down 1900 wouldnt click off 12s all day long. My little LQ4 with a 112 on it damn well better run mid 12s or I put a match to it.
