I actually find it pretty interesting, but I like the sound of a V8 better than a six and I already have a 6.2 anyway. The only engine that I would trade for is the shelved 4.5 turbodiesel, also an eight.

I like the sound of a V6 like in a 350/370Z. The Ford would sound similar if the downpipes were equal length before they merged.

The only six I ever really liked the sound of was the inline 3.8 DOHC in my '62 Jaguar. That baby would snarl! The high-compression forged Jahns pistons, modified SU carbs, balanced rotating assembly and dual straight through glasspack mufflers just boosted the audio quality a bit.

Yeah, I've heard some mean V6s, but I still prefer the rumble

I love the sound of an 87 Gn with flows. That's the only 6 I would own. As for ecoboosts, yeah unproven enough for me not to own one.

So what characteristics separate a "rev happy v8" from a "regular v8"? I suppose you'd rather have a throttle body 350 that was all done by 4000 rpm?

Also, if you have such disdain for the GMT900, why are you in the GMT900 forum? I think you'd be happier over on the Titan forums.

I too don't really admittedly like the sound of a V6. Kinda used to it with my GTP now..... and the blower whine drowns out the engine sound anyhow. It still has the stock catback and resonator so just got a bit raspier without a cat and the open downpipe.

A V8 turbo would be kinda neat too but I don't see it happening from any of the manufacturers for in a truck...... unless you are talking diesel of course which there is tons of. The little duramax is a novel idea but really would be strangled with all the Tier 4 emission garbage like the rest of the diesel world.

Not that it matters but I lined up a few times with a stock EB F-150 and he was running 15.30's. I talked to the guy and complimented him on his ride.

I do Boob,I want to know who brings the strongest 1/2 ton truck to market for every year,i want to know TQ spec, HP spec, towing specs, tire size, wheel size, price, options, and which ones can be modded, which ones have aftermarket support, and stats,I want good reporting and comparison, that is the part that is hard to find.

what pisses me off is that ford tests 5.3 3:42 for national marketing against the ecoboost not the best in class NHT equipped equivalent, that to me is apples to apples

That comparison that ran was a bad joke: Ecoboost 3.73 max tow vs Hemi 3.90 vs 5.3 3.08, uphill trailering competition. Asinine.
