Default 6l80 from Vette work in truck?

I have the truck in my sig below. I found a killer deal on a built 6l80, but it came out of an ls3 vette. Will it swap into my truck? I know the converter will not work but what about the trans itself? Will it work if I use my truck converter? Any input appreciated.

Great question. I doubt it will easily work. You'll need a bell housing and an output housing with a trans crossmember mount at a minimum. You have any pics of the trans?

That transmission doesnt even look close to your transmission. Doesnt the vettes still use a tube? I know the converter has a different bolt pattern than ours.

Truck/car center section an bellhousing is the same. The car tailshaft/output shaft is different from the truck version

I think it'd be better to just buy something that's designed for your truck.

Transmission in a vette is located in back of the car and not directly mounted to the engine.

At very minimum you would need Bell and tail housing, probably would need to change the input and output shaft also.

Does the mounting plate on the back of the Vette transmission unbolt? It doesn't look like it will allow a normal rear truck mount to work.

The bellhousing and tailhousing would be way different. The OD of the trans vs my trans looks to be smaller OD on the vette than my 6L80e
