6L80 swap?
#41
Pulled my fuel pump module/assembly and ordered the one that doesn't come with my truck. From what I could gather there are 3 different pumps available hopefully it will bolt in and fire up with less than 98psi of fuel pressure... When I'm 100% finished I'll post up the water torture that is swaping a 4L70e for a 6L90e lol.....

Ok lets say that you are swaping the 6l80 with the 4l60 and your truck is a 4wd. can you use the 4wd or it will be AWD because i have a switch turn it its 4wd and what problems will I have to face other than the wiring I have the 08 crew cab with the autotrac what should I do with it .
And can I use the stock shaft or I need to Purchase another?

Update
My truck a 4WD NNBS 6.0 liter VMax with a 4L70e and AFM.
Transmission 6L90E
Transfer Case (New) from a HD 3/4 Ton
Front Drive shaft (Add) 1.5 inches aprox.
Rear Drive shaft (Reduce) 1"
Extend the crossmember by 1 1/4"
Transmission cooling lines were re used.
Some misc gaskets and o-rings
Change Fuel Pump Module and Fuel Pump Assembly (might not need this if your starting with a NON AFM truck) Wired directly to a switched power source.
New (Engine Wiring Harness from a 6.0 liter truck with the 6 sp auto) Cluster reads LOW OIL because the OS and harness didn't have sensors or programing for that and the original equipment on my truck did.
Shifter Stalk (Not installed yet)
Gauge Cluster (GM hasn't released mine yet)
Transfer Case Switch (Waiting for delivery of the part)
Reflash your ECM computer with a OS from a truck with the 6sp auto)
Flash the TCM with a tune that works with your ECM program.
I'm waiting for the GM to release the cluster so we can see if the tap up tap down will work.
Once I'm all done I'll see if I can get all the part #'s together in one place and post them.

For those of you looking at a 6L80E instead of a 6L90E you will likely need to shorten your front driveshaft about one inch and lengthen your rear driveshaft about one inch instead of the description posted directly above.

if thats the case it probably has to do with the change overs going on right now. getting ready for the MY2009 trucks/SUVs, which as you know quite a few are getting the 6-speed and are going to need that gauge cluster. So I would assume its because they're using what inventory they have for production
