Long tubes and hi-flo cats sounded good with the stock catback. It just wasn't aggressive enough for me. Now it's perfect. I haven't heard anything else "in person" that sounds better than mine. I can't even get anyone challenge me on a friendly street race.

A little late to the game
But there's only so much you can do with stock manifolds. Before headers, I just welded in a hooker aerochamber. Sounded ok at best.
Added kooks 1 7/8 headers with 3.5 ory, aerochamber and factory tail pipe, and it's one of the best sounding exhaust systems iv heard for a stock cam truck.
