Default Going from 12.9-11.9 NA??

Current setup is is a hot cammed lq9 with 3k stall, 3.23 gears, nnbs intake, and 28/10.5 DRs

Went 12.9 @ 104 1.9 60'
First thing getting switched is a set of 4.10s
Then I'm thinking a set of 243s, then a bigger stall.

Few local guys are telling me my cam alone is holding 40hp back which I find that to be a little exadurated??

Are my 11.9 hopes and dreams unrealistic?

With ported heads and a different cam no they aren't.
You will also likely need a looser converter to get it done.

The GM hotcam is holding you back, but the exact extent of how much is hard to tell.

456
Good heads
1 7/8 primaries
Dual 3" or single 4"
4500 stall
Cam on 240s
Dual 4" air intake

But not many care to run this

My trip to work is about 4 miles and my tbss was rather radical so the big cam and converter I'm definitely ok with. Plan on having Greg redo this converter anyways. Only thing I'm not keen on is the 4.56 as I do drive highway on wknds.
Have a few lbs out of it already with no spare and a roll pan. Haven't really looked at what all I can get rid of like I did the Tbss yet

Just glad to hear it could possibly be done.

You'll have to make peace with that if you want to even come close to 11s on motor. Going to a huge cam is pointless if you don't gear down to multiply the torque. Can't tell you how many camaro guys on a budget I've tuned who complain about still getting their asses handed to them after they swap to some huge cam because they didn't want to invest in a new rear end and kept the stock 2.73 gearing...

I agree. I'm sure it could be done on a 4.30 and a standard CAI.

Single 4" has proven to draw vacuum with powerful breathing setups using a 102mm tb

I was reading quickly and somehow got dual 4" out of your recipe. I remember skeet running something like that and thought it was overkill. when I said standard CAI, I was talking about a single 4".

if I was to build a fullsize again, a vic jr with accufab throttle body would be my only option after running the vic jr with a carb. especially on a N/A or nitrous combo.
