Exhaust sound/drone with LTs and ORY?
#1
Currently I've got a 22" body 3" SISO magnaflow muffler on my truck with otherwise stock exhaust. The truck has a moderate drone at 75MPH but it's livable. Engine is a built 5.3 with mild cam and 10.3 compression.
If I swap on LTs and a ORY, how much louder does the drone typically get?

I have LTs, no cats, 14" Magnaflow SI/SO 3" muffler and deleted the resonator and while it is pretty loud when you go full throttle, its pretty tame at cruise/highway, dont have any drone. I do also have sound deadner lining the doors/floor too, kills tons of road noise/resonance.
The spiral flow mufflers work pretty well to kill drone or rasp with LTs, could either add a dynomax bullet inline before the magnaflow or the spiral flow designs work well too (Flo Pro, Moroso, etc make a few)

I've got the Ebay "hump" headers that are 1 3/4" primary, 2.5" collectors with the 2.5" ORY with 3" catback connection. My catback is this one from Dynomax Single - 3" Cat-Back System - Ultra Flo? Welded Muffler - P/N: 39311 - DynoMax® Performance Exhaust
I first ran it with just a turndown attached to the muffler and the drone at cruising speed was OBNOXIOUS!!! Sounded awesome at WOT though
.
I now have the tailpipe attached to the muffler, but I cut it off just after it crosses over the axle due to my rear sway bar being in the way. But since I dont like exhaust tips showing it worked out perfectly. There is only a nice mellow hum when cruising. Sounds really nice at WOT. I've been told it sounds like a nice souped up hotrod now instead of a truck

Here's a clip I took today while data logging. This is with the above mentioned exhaust setup with the windows UP.
This was taken using my GoPro, so if you're on a laptop, you'll probably need headphones to get a good sense of the sound.
