Default Will I get better Gas Milage & power with these mods

I have now on my 2002 Ext Cab Silverado Truck mod wise & my best time to date

Nelson 93 tune
Hooker Muffler
UPD Cold Air
March Ram Air Kit in to Lower Stock Air Box (WORTH 2 MPH IN 1/4 GUYS)

I get 18 mpg in the City & 23 hwy
My best 1/4 mile is a 15.0 @ 93 mph with a 2.4 60ft

I am thinking of adding

Helix Power Tower Spacer. (NO SPACER JOKES I ALREADY KNOW)
Underdrive Pulley
LS1 Fans
Tornado (NO JOKES, I ALREADY KNOW ABOUT THIS ONE TOO)
Fix my Stock 3.73 to be a true Posi
JBA Headers & Catback

I am shooting for 14.50 N/A & 20 mpg City & 27 Hwy.... Is this possbile or am I setting my goals to high.

I really doubt you will get to 27 highway... Do you have a 5.3 or 4.8? You might get to 14.50

I have a 5.3?

I get pretty good on the hwy now. I get close 24 hwy now. So you think 14.50 N/A is possbile?

It isn't going against the grain. It is going against numerous dyno information that proves that they don't work. You will obviously pick up some power with your other mods but unless you get do some crazy weight reduction, I don't think you will see a 14.50. You definately won't touch 20 and 27 mpg...

I believe someone on here did a Dyno of the Tornado & gained nothing. They then dynoed the Tb Spacer & gain nothing... They then Dynoed the TB Spacer & Tornado together & gained 5 RWHP I have heard from people getting better gas milage from those 2 mods combined. Considering I got my Tornado Free since my buddy works at AutoZone & the spacer was $70 used. I think 5 RWHP will be a bargin.... I am hoping for maybe 1 mpg better with those two mods

Now I currentlly get 18mpg all day & that is city. I would think with the Underdrive Pully & the loss of a Fan being turned by the motor I would gain some Gas Milage alone there since that will give me Parastatic HP. Which means the motor doesn't have to turn the Fan. Which my hopes are that I will get 1 mpg better with just the Pulley & Fan....

Then with the JBA Headers & Catback I should gain at least 14 RWHP.... But I don't know if it will hurt my Gas Milage or not.

Here is my thoughts

Spacer & Tornado ( lets just say NO RWHP)
Underdrive Pulley & Fan are suppose to be worth 12 RWHP
JBA Headers & Catback I am hoping for 14 RWHP

So a total of 25 RWHP.... I would think that should be good for a 3 tenth drop.... So that should put me at consistant 14.70 @ 96 mph.....

Any other idea's guys on what I can do to reach my 1/4 mile goal & Gas Milage goal.

I have heard that putting a bed cover on your truck helps you get better milage. Is there any truth to this?

Thanks guys

Those mods (UD pulley, e-fans, exhaust) might give you those gains by themselves but the horsepower from the mods don't just add like that. The dyno of a tornado and tb spacer would more than likely be due to it being a different dyno run. Those two don't give any noticeable gains by themselves and I don't see how they would 'work together' to give you a gain.

A rule of thumb is usually 10-15 horsepower is good for a tenth drop. Get you a cam and stall and then you can get your 14.50, but you will lose site of that gas mileage goal.

There are only so many mods you can do before you max out your gas mileage. Most gas mileage gains are going to be had in the tune. I would say that for your truck, you are about topped out on gas mileage...

Thanks Thiems for all your help. I really do appreciate it.

Hey just curious do you think doing those mods will help out at all with the Gas milage or am I stuck at 18 mpg?

Also do you think I could stand to gain anything by using my old ported Throttle Body off my T/A on my truck?

Honestly, 18 mpg is great in the city and I can't honestly see you getting much more than that. However, you might be able to gain a touch more with the e-fans and ud pulley. I'm not real knowledgable on ported throttle bodies but if you got one laying around, might as well throw it on. More than likely you won't see much of a gain but it shouldn't hurt.
