Default When did Drums come back?

Hey, all. I went to a Chevrolet dealership a couple of nights ago to look at the new trucks and such. I noticed on the Silverado 1500s that it has rear drum brakes. All 1500s, V6,V8, RC,EC, etc. Did they switch to drums in 04/05? I missed the change date, does anybody know why they switched back to drums?

because they found that the drums stop just as well as the disc and the cost to produce/install is cheaper. they can pass that savings on to the customer. that is what i read anyway.

Oh, and for the part on "So they can pass the savings to the customer" we all know that's Wow, I saved $200 on a $26,000 truck! Woohoo!

So, I assume the drums aren't ABS. I guess the rears lock up and the front disks have ABS. Right?
