They are just saving money, and the "passing the savings on to customers" is also BS.

Could you imagine the brake fade from 150mph to 0

When I had my 96 gmc the rear drums were always giving me trouble. They always had front to rear bias problems.

the braking system on a 96 would barely have been par for a s10 pickup. i don't know what they were thinking?
