yes you would most likely blow up some of those giimmicks anyway.you mentioned the 1/2 ton cc.how about the std 2500 ecsb?it has an 8600 gvwr.i a'm going back to one because this ccsb burns to much fuel.i work with it everyday and travel around 60 or 70 miles or so,but need the 4l80 trans and the heavier rear .
