Soon to be in the market for another vehicle/DD.

I've been checking out the Denali's for the AWD and 6.0 from the getgo.

Any issues? Is the AWD setup as stout as what comes on the trucks?

What determined whether some SUVs got hydroboost and others got vacuum?

It's a 5500+lb pig with a 6L and a 4L60.... A handful I've seen with 4.10's in the AWD axles. The transfer case and front diff are as strong as any of the other half ton units I would assume.

As far as real "performance" you're going to have to throw some serious dollars at one but a few simple things can make one more fun to drive and still be perfectly fine to DD. I'm in the market myself for a 99-2000 GMT400 2dr 4WD Tahoe... I'm just running into everything I find either being priced rediculous or having a metric ***-ton of miles... Gotta look close for rust too.

I'd be satisfied with something that was fun from stoplight to stoplight and 100% reliable. Not looking to take to the same level as my truck (which is currently undergoing changes to be high 9 sec capable).

I was pricing out a new 4x4 regular cab from GM, and just became disgusted at the price. I'm not too good for an older used vehicle, and I know these NBS trucks are rock solid.

What are those even going for these days? I haven't looked.

4x4 with the highest trim package (which is still garbage) checks out over 40k.

I was looking at Denalis and Escalades when I picked up my 3/4 ton. The newer the vehicle the more plush... Rear buckets heated etc. look out for 4L60E issues and electrical gremlins but other than that they're great SUVs. I would have gotten a Denai but I found too good of a deal on my Burb to pass it up.

If you buy from the internet manager at a dealership they will give you a better deal because no time invested. Labor Day, Memorial Day, end of year etc. are best times to get big discounts. You can get 8-10k or so off. I paid 26 for mine but it doesn't have the steering wheel controls or backup camera. Got everything else I wanted. Good luck with your decision!

The Awd in the Yukon is not as desirable as the Awd in the sierras.

^^^That depends on the year of the Yukon Denali. Earlier ones had the NVG149.
