65mph was no that bad and that was with a very loose converter once it locked it was fine.....right now i have 4.56 but i already swaped to an 80 and a 4400 pi converter and does alot better than with the 65 and the tci stall....i say do 4.56s on a 3800-4400 stall those heads u want to use and maybe a 228r should do the trick for a mid 12 might be able to get awa with maybe a smaller stall

 

oh and i daily drove my truck for quite a while so did simple sam....still pulled good up top

thats a good question too..i think a lot of these guys are running them tho..i havent seen many threads about swapping out the axles.

 

depending how loose or tight it is i dont think tere should be much diffrence if u want more help in getting a 5,2 in the low 12 pm AmadeoSpike he is the buider of mine and the one who ran 11.9.......He has built sevral others that have gon low to mid 12s

 

so far so good, though i do have yukon axles, she'll be tested really soon, shes seen many 600+ wheel hp or very close to it on a 100 of dope on a stock shortblock. she'll deffinitely be tested with alot of dope on the 408
