Default were back home now

Had to pick up a generator for the house, no power yet.
the house is fine, only had one window cracked (easy fix)
My business suffered damage, lost 8 sheets of the tin roof, storage got soaked, supplies sucked out and scattered everywhere, got pictures will post later.
My second store is fine the building next to it took most of the damage and saved mine.
Sonic took heavy damage, the local wrecker service lost it's whole building. The pharmacy lost it's roof all over the parking lot. D Q and true value took heavy damage too.
Schools are closed until further notice and most of the people have yet to return.
I hope what is going around is not true but we may not have power until 30 days or as long as 8 weeks until the main lines are fixed.

I would like to thank everyone for praying for us, if not for all of you I think we would have been hit much harder and lost allot more then what we did.

Damn dude that sux, I've been traveling back and fourth all week to orange tx., today they opened up port arthur and went that route and man what a mess, brothers house is fine just miner damage, parents house is fine except for all the trees down and no power, same as you 4-8 weeks before power is reinstalled. Good luck with the clean up, and glad you and your family is safe. later, kevin

Glad your house was in good shape. It would be harder emotionally, I think, to lose the house or have heavy damage and lose personal items. After Ivan and Dennis we were told 1 to 3 months before power would be back on. It was back in less than 2 weeks both times. I think they tell you absolute worst case so people don't get mad if it does take that long. You should start seeing power company truck pouring in if they're not already there. Hope you get your business back together soon and remember the important things in your life are safe.

The entire gulf coast has been in my thoughts and prayers ever since Katrina hit. Just remember there are lots of folks who are praying for you and everyone else that has been affected. It has affected me in ways I could never have imagined and I'm way up here in landlocked Indiana. I know of countless people who are doing what they can to help with supplies, their time, and monetary donations.
