Went to a performance shop today...

Specializing in LS engines. Figured it was a good place. I don't have the time between 2 jobs and a 7 month old baby to swap my new engine in. Took it to a performance shop and asked them how much they'd charge to swap in my 4l80e and 408 in at the same time. Started talking. Their "GM Specialist" proceeded to tell me that the Engine & Tranny came from a 2500HD truck and a 2006 Van. I tell him I know that. His reply?
"You can't put these 6.0's and 4l80e's in a regular cab 2wd truck"
Which is some bs because the owner (not the "gm specialist") has a supercharged 6.0 swapped rcsb".
Straight from the specialists mouth. LOL. I officially hate people. Guess ill do it myself -.-

If its not fixing something stock no one can do anything where I live. If i want something I gotta go to North Carolina to national speed. We got a sick *** transmission / torque converter builder I mess with. Other than that nothing lol you would think a town like Myrtle beach would have something but no all we have are rice shops.
I told him I have a ls1 engine in my truck right now and he just laughed with no comment. Even spoke to the owner and he said his truck was a 2500 6.0 that he just changed the bed on. I could tell they were a special pair. I did mess with them a bit before I left though. I asked them have they ever built a performance engine and he said mostly they just do maintinence or install body kits, spoilers, systems, nitrous, neons, and rims. He had some sick air intake kits I could get and they have a friend who can hook up nitrous kits and he personally can Change gearing ratios.
Instead of swapping engines he tried to talk me into changing my gears and adding nitrous. I asked about tuning and he said he does custom tunes. Come to find out he has ulimited free tunes through some online tuner -_-
They also told me its gonna cost around 20-30k in work to get a 10 second pick up truck so I should just build a Camaro. I told him I was turboing the 408, and after swearing it wouldn't work he said maybe if I'm lucky and got the motor in a 2500 where it belongs, I'd see a 100 hp gain from a 88 mm turbo LOL
Guess ill do it by myself again :/ it's just tough because I have a 7 month old, only me, work 8-5 Monday-Friday, its hard to find time lol and it just pains me to know people actually go to these people enough to clearly keep their doors open. And I've been playing inside motors since I was 14 an apparently I'm a GM God compared to the specialist. They charge engine core fees, and order engines from companies pre assembled. And this is a "performance" shop trying to offer me engine neons. Ill keep looking for help in the mean time haha
