Default used head buy

what type of heads should i get to port my truck is stock cept for the headers also will do a cam s with that i will be porting them and will have them built valves and seats i dont know how to do that

my buddy at work says i can get a set from the junk yard some better flowing 202's o dont lnow

799 or 243s best to get milled down. 03 plus valve and port

Default intake decked?

my buddy also suggested i get a used intake and have it 'decked' down .010 or so do i need to do this also ??

Havn intake milled not such goood idea, you don't need to if only goin .030

For all the money to get heads right should i get a set already done up nice .

It may be hard to do. I found a set of 243's milled .030 with hardened pushrods for $480. I have not seen another deal this good since. Usually you can't even get the heads for less that $400, let alone already done.

I seen set 243's for 375 but not done up were in classifides here

I bought my low-mile 243's for $300 and had them milled .030 for $80. I would like better heads but when it comes down to it, idk how much power I'd pick up and if that difference would be worth the $1200+ that cnc'd heads go for.

i been looking at prices of 243's on ebay 360-380. . Now there are places that will do them up for you. but is it worth it .. i want to start getting my stuff in line for a spring install as in head n cam i want like 40 hp gain is that too much to ask for from for ported heads
