Any one tear some **** up yet? I think my 4 wheel drive Tahoe got around 18, and that was city and highway driving. I am still in the middle of testing though, so I'll get back with ya later. Happy with the results so far.

I'm using 87 octane.

I'm running it in my cherokee right now, kinda a strong mix, a little more than 2oz/10gal. I swear it feels more responsive... Also noticed it CERTAINLY was idling better this morning when I first cranked it... We'll see what the mileage says...

Remember, the only bad lobbyist is the guy that wants what you DON'T want...

Fuel prices are high because of the tree and bunny huggers. There hasn't been a new refinery built since 1976. Production is down because refineries are forced to use old technology because if they build new or rebuild over a certain percentage of their plant they have to build it to outrageously expensive levels of non-pollution. The other world producers aren't scared of our producers because they ours can't raise their production due to the inability to drill in new areas (off shore and in Alaska). Ethanol produced in our farm states is expensive to produce and get gov't subsidies that we pay for (a double hit). Refineries have to make so many different blends of gasoline due to the proliferation of regional requirements that overall production is lowered due to the downtime between blends.

And if putting that stuff in gas really worked, word of it would be spreading like wildfire and everybody would be doing it.

But, I don't really think about it too much...

I'm about 75% the way through my test and the results so far look promising. I'll post when I finish the tank. Just curious to see what you guys are putting this stuff into to get it into your tank or are you just using a funnel? The acetone comes in a big metal container so I thought the best idea would be to put it in an additive bottle so I could have it handy to add whenever needed at the gas station. I bought some cheap fuel treatment, which I used to kill some weeds, and put about 6 oz acetone in that bottle and started on my merry way to the gas station. It was only in there about 5 minutes or so and it already started to decompose the bottom of that bottle to the point of it ballooning out in places. Luckily the station was close enough that it hadn't sprung a leak yet! Anyway, has anyone found a small plastic bottle or container that is capable of transporting and dispersing this stuff into your gas tank?

I agree! There isn't going to be an "accurate" test done here, unless someone lapped a racetrack such as Daytona with the cruise on for at least 100-150 miles, then added the acetone and re-ran the same course on the same day in the same weather......oh nevermind, it's just too many variables. These "independent" test by fellow members remind me of the people who lost 20lbs. by taking sugar pills thinking they were taking diet pills.

I check my mileage after almost every tankfull and have not seen more than 15.5 mpg for months and months. After the acetone on one tank it was at 17mpg. I am now doing the same ratio with the reformulated premium gasoline in an everyday test. I'll let ya know in a few more days when its empty.

I burn the cheapest gas I can find in both my trucks. Usually Kroger gas (get 10 cents per gallon off with Kroger card ) I personally measure my acetone out at the house and transport it to the gas station in a glass corona long kneck bottle......fits perfect in the cup holder. with the long kneck it makes for easy pouring into the tank with no spills. I am currently running approx 6 oz. per fillup. half a corona.....lol. I am by no means exact here but pretty close. I usually fill up when the truck is right around 1/8 tank and that usually comes in around 20 gals on the fillup.

the acetone doesn't seem to hurt the glass bottle. Last fillup on the wife's tahoe she got 17.7 mpg city driving. I consider that a noticeable improvement. her truck is bone stock also. I have not finished the first tank in my pickup yet so no results there........

Ok I finished my tank at around 410 miles. Definitely helped some, I know this is not totally scientific but getting more than 400 miles is practically unheard of since I put the cam in. I reset the trip everytime I fill up so I know what my normal range is and it does not deviate too much. I was hoping for better so I am going to step up my dosage to 7oz. If I don't get at least 420, I don't think I'll continue to mess with it. The Corona bottle is a brilliant idea, thanks.
