Anyone do logs to see what it is doing to their trims. Anything that raises efficiency must give better hp... This has been some great reading.

Acetone can reduce hydrocarbon emissions up to 60 percent. In some older cars, the HC readings with acetone in a 1986 GMC went from 440 PPM to 195, as just one example. Though mileage gains taper off with too much acetone, hydrocarbon emissions are nevertheless greatly reduced. Pure acetone is an extremely clean burning fuel that burns in air with a pretty blue, smokeless flame.

I can think of something else that burns in air with a smokeless flame.... prolly doesn't smell as good though.

It worked for me on the first tankfull with 93 octane non-reformulated(no methanol added), but after going through a whole tankfull of "up to 10% methanol added" I got about 15.8mpg, not really any better than normal.
I now have another tankfull of good 93 octane and will be posting my results that will mimic my last tankfull of the crappy reformulated **** as far as the routes and driving habits go.

I've been reading about this for a while and came across this post on the board and decided to register. You guys really know alot about these engines!

After all this craze about acetone I decided to try it in my truck. It's a 2002 6.0L CC 4x4 SB with 74k. I recently got the PCMFORLESS tune, and prior to that on 87 octane I was getting an average of 11.5 mpg. After the tune on 93 octane I was averaging 12.5 mpg. I added 6 ounces to my tank at fill-up which is about 2.3 oz per 10 gallons when they recommend 2-3 oz per 10 gallons.

I drove my normal routes and didn't baby the gas at all. I made sure I drove as close to normal as I could, if not a bit harder. After waiting all week to see what the results were I filled up and I got..........12.5 MPG! It's like it had no effect at all on my truck.

I added 6 more ounces to the 21 gallons I got just to give it a second chance.

I don't really know if it helped me out or not. I got 16 mpg in both city and highway but the next test I got as low as 14 mpg. Just got back from Daytona beach, mostly highway with your occasional construction jam and got 19. But then the check engine light came on and I got scared so I quit using it. I still was getting 18 mpg. The check engine light was for EGR valve or sensor, P1406, anyone know?
Came on once on the way down and once on the way back but went back off both times after a few hundred miles.

Don't think I'm going to continue to use after I run out of my 32 oz can.

Yeah I think I mentioned it before sounds great to get more MPG's but nobody has done it for 10-20K miles to see what the long term effects are.

I think that would be a great way to tell IMO

Just put filled up again last night after my second tank of Acetone/Gas. This time I got 12.25. I was getting on her pretty hard at the end, but it looks like it has no effect on my mileage.

Oh well, I'll use the rest of the Acetone to clean the paint off of my old duck decoys!
