Default Tranny trys to lockup on accell

Forgive me if this is here some where, but my searches have been fruitless.

What I Did:
1998 GMC 1500 I removed a 305 / 4L60E and installed a 350 / 4L80E the 350 and 80 came together with the wiring harness and computer everything went ok until I tried to start it with the 350 computer it would start and run for about 20 RPM's then **** down so I put the 305 computer in and it runs ok.

Question 1: will the computer make a difference, is there a trick to getting the 350 computer to work?

When I take off from a stop it feels like the lockup converter is truing to lockup right away, this has killed the engine a few times.
it does not feel like the tranny is shifting rite ( rpm goes high i shift it to drive or second to get it to shift )

I am lost at this point.

First, the PCM with the 305 and 4L60E programming is not gonna run the 350 and 80E tranny. It has to be flashed with a 350/80E file.
Now you said the PCM that came with the 350/80E would start and die correct?
If so do the security relearn.98+ has VATS,when you swap a PCM from another truck in your truck, the VATS have to be relinked.
I will pm you the security relearn steps.
So take the PCM that came with the 350 and 80E tranny and do the steps I am about to pm you.

Thank you so much! I was starting to think the tranny was junk but it shifts like a dream now.
Now to work out the slight miss it has and it should be good for another quarter million miles.

again Thank You
