Default That thing got a Hemi?

last night my friend was behind me in his new quad cab (ugly puke yellow) '04 ram w/5.7 hemi 25k miles ( aint it supposed to be 345hp?),5speed auto, 3.92 Traxlock dif., gay lookin 20" wheels that have the stupid chrome covers, and only a k&n replacement filter. the best he has ever gotten is 16mpg(highway). only he was in the truck with no extra weight.
i was in my 00 silverado 130k miles (5.3 (295hp) ext cab.3door), 3.42 G80, 255/75/16 allterrain tires, FIPK Gen II, Hypertech PP III, with a tool box in the bed that weighs 275lbs. my best is 21Mpg(highway)
we lined up on a flat straight away, with a nice little hill at 1/4mile away, i told him i would let him get the jump...
i stared at him untill i saw his front end lift, then i stomped it, his didnt even spinn the tires. mine chirped till 30mph. at 150 feet i was right beside him my Driver door at his Passenger door, by the time we got to the hill 1/4 mile away, his front bumper was behind my rear bumper bout 10'.
when we got to his house i asked him "That thing got a Hemi in it?" he said "screw u!" that $37k hemi just got put to shame by a $18k silverado. go figure... this guy is my sisters boyfriend and also the one that has the 3000gt. that is slower than the Hemi ram.

next time i beat him ill have it on video and try to put it up on the web. we are supposed to be having a big "get together"at a friends house in a few weeks. ill have the videos of me woopin his 3000gt and the Big Might Hemi Ram...
till next time

His truck still looked better than yours :p

Ohh and I don't think the 00' 5.3L was rated at 295HP because my 01' was rated at 285HP and they didn't go down.

dont let that run get to your head because there are several dodge trucks that will hand you your ***.......you ran a stock truck that had 20 inch wheels that are over 80 pounds each and are 33inch tall ......your truck has some mods and shorter tires 31inch tall which will give you guys about the same gear ......also the dodge has alot more weight then your truck......tell your friend to give me a email so i can give him some free and cheap mods so he can hand you your ***.......

sorry fellas! i was wrong i guess, like F8l Z71 pointed out i was off by 10 hp, so now i have a 60 hp disadvantage! that makes it all better! by the way what is the stock TQ rating on my 5.3 and my friends 5.7 Hemi?
everybody has their opions and i just dont like the look of those trucks. i dont know why? and have u seen how crammed up the engine compartment is? man i would hate to change them spark plugs on that hemi!

and if it matters any on my HPPIII i have the 87 tune, rev limiter at 6200, topspeed 128(H), shift firmness+, 1-2shift is all the way up -1, the 2-3shift is all the way up -1{every now and again i hit the revlimiter when 2nd is wound out but only once, havent dropped it 1mph yet}, and the 3-4shift is all the way up -1or -2?, no shiftkit, stock thermostat, didnt change gear ratio, or tire height.

could that matter that stock tire size is 235/75/16, and now i have 255/75/16, by the way these tires are the Liberator All-Terrains from Wallyworld, $333.74 mounted balanced and installed. haha im cheap, i have bout 15k miles on them and the rear ones look like they fixin to need replacing in the next 10k miles? but the front ones look good except for the edges?

I still kinda like the Dodge trucks, i just thought the hemi was soposed to be fast. Some of the hemi's i raced are not stock. So i dont know what the deal is. I know my truck isnt super fast but its fast enough to kill a hemi.

I love killing hemi's. Feels like I'm doing the world justice by putting down the hemi-hype. Dont get me wrong, I've heard of some quick **** hemi's, but in general their godliness is over-exagerated(sp?) Its just great whenever you give a reality check to another driver period. Be it smoking a hemi in a GM/Ford product or like parish smoking.......well just about everything south of the 10.9 et.

Its just the fact that the other driver thinks "This is too easy, I've got him, he doesnt know what i have, this is gunna be a slaying...etc, etc" then BAM!!! He's not as well off as he thought! just priceless! And yes, it has happened to me once or twice
But its ok, my truck is bone stock...i promise.
