Default Thermostat question.

Do all our thermostats come as an assembly?
I was going to put a 180 degree in there when I changed my water pump yesterday but the damm thing was $27.00 bucks from Napa. I know Napa is kind of a rip off as far as prices go but dammm, these things cost maybe $15.00 bucks max anywhere else.
I guess its all one peice, the t-stat is part of the housing?? Is this just BS?

its all one piece. the housing and therm. are made together. a 160 thermo costs almost 50 bucks.

What a rip, it cost the manufacturer about $4.00 bucks to make one!
I guess I'm going to have to bit the bullet on this one.

Do you know anyone who has actually done this mod? If so what kind of temps were they running before and after the mod?
I still have my stocker so I'll check it out and see if mine is the same.
Thanks!

I have an 05', and the thermostat is like a regular thermostat. It comes out as 1 piece, and thunderracing sells the thing for like 20 something bucks.
