Default Test drove the 345hp 6.0 half ton Silverado

I am sure you have seen this 345hp Silverado labled the Texas Special Edition or some **** like that. It is perty much a 2wd SS. 20" wheels, 345hp, 4L65E, torsion bar front suspension, ecsb.

This truck hauls ***. I have been test driving trucks for a few months now and nothing compares to this. The only thing that comes close is the Titan. The Hemi doesnt come close, not even the rcsb 2wd. 1st and 2nd gears were a blast. I am not sure if it was the power or the gearing but taking off from a stop felt good. Now I am wondering if I should drop the cash on this thing or not. I knind of have my heart set on the next generation Silverado due out in the 2006 model. I am sure it will only have around 345hp like this truck but will have displacement on demand, a 5 speed auto, or something major. The front clip can only look better. But that is then and this is now. That truck got me excited.

I can get this special edition as a fully loaded LS (no leather) with dual AC, bose and all for 24700.

For that price it sounds like a steal.

i have a 2004 silverado performance truck. not the texas edition. the one with the Vortex HighOutput emblems. I see some of the Texas edition trucks around. i look at their exhaust and see a 5.3L tail pipe. the vho exhaust system has a fater pipe and is curved out a little more and the tip is cut at a 45 degree angle (curves out like the diesels do). I've never seen one with the same exhaust as mine except on other Performance Trucks. If the dealer tag says Silverado Performance Package. then you are mostlikely getting the 345hp vho with z60 and 20 inch wheels. if the pipe looks like the regular 5.3's sitting next to it. its probably a 5.3L 295hp.

lol, i just looked at when this thread was started. a year ago.
