Default Sportside or Fleetside?

My girlfriend's brother is going to be buying a new truck soon (2003+) in white, and it's going to have the fleetside bed, he wants to trade beds with me... Should I do it?

I don't know why he's selling his 81 GMC c10. =/

Here are some pics to help you decide...

Definitely a personal preference. I think the fleetsides look cleaner, although the stepsides have a little more character. As long as it's a Chevy, you're cool.

In my opinion, it depends on the truck. But, here are some of my guidelines based off of what I have seen.
*2003+ Silverado = fleetside
*99-02 Silverado = stepside
Exceptions:
*Raised trucks = fleetside
*Extended cabs = fleetside

Sierras follow the same rules in my opinion.

Pretty much, I think a fleetside looks good in about every scenario but, in some instances I like the stepside a tad bit better.. Usually on lowered 99-02s.

Good luck with what you decide to do.

I have heard that you will no longer be able to get a step side truck for 06 and up. I say keep the step side bed.

I agree and also,
Escalade clip = Fleetside
Denali clip = Stepside

I know you have thought about changing the front too, personally I would stay with the stepside and the GMC front.

I think you're right the chevy website doesn't list it as a option. Wonder what's going on with that?

But I like my stepside(sig pic)! I think they look badass dropped with the right wheel and tire combo.

I think I might be leaning to trading but I'm still not sure...

Before I got this truck I never liked sportside/stepside trucks, but it's grown on me and I even like all the previous stepsides...
I don't know...
Only thing I don't like about the stepside/sportside is that I can't shave the bed rails because it's weird, the lights are weird, and molding the rollpan has to be a pain in the *** x2...
