Default so things didnt go as planed

so i wanted to lower my truck on coilovers, only wanted a 4/6 drop.......

after asking around i picked up some qa1 DS301's, Atomic brackets, 4" djm arms, flip kit, C notch and for out back VA specialties shock relocation kit and qa1 single adjustable shocks

pulled it in a my cousins garage and got to it

every thing went pretty smooth was zipping along

put the wheels on put it back on the ground and well it was like a 6" drop way to lower then i wanted

adjusted the qa1's some and was able to bring the height up a little its probably around 5 or 5.5" now still lower then i wanted i got 15" from wheel center to fender keep in mind tires are 245/45/20

so being the fronts so low i left the lowering shackles when i installed the flip but set to 1" so its 7" rear drop didnt want it have a lot of rake

to going to install the shock relocation kit, get the bed back on it then get it alignment

for now just going to get it back on the road but probably will be lifting it up an inch or so all the way around maybe some spacers in the atomic brackets or longer qa1's i guess after driving it ill figure it out but with Christmas right around the corner its not happening anytime soon

so if your using QA1 DS301's with atomic's brackets your going to get a 2" drop with the conversion alone keep that in mind, maybe this will save some one from doing what i did

i like low trucks just didnt want to have all the rubbing and scrapping so only shot for a 4/6 FAIL!

Same thing happened to mine when I went to coilovers. I only used 2" spindles and couldn't even get the floor jack out when I was done.

I had to get different coilovers and put the factory spindles back on. With the coilovers cranked all the way up I ended up at about 4".

I don't remember which ones I have now. It rides a little better than it did with a 4" spindle/spring drop. If I'd known ahead of time, I'd have bagged the front.

That coilover is about 3" too short; need something around a 13" ride height. The Ridetech HQ4.1 works well in my truck with a 2" spindle. 900# 10" spring is good for the street but mine is a little heavier in the front with the supercharger.

finally got it back together and put about 80 miles on it, this thing is way way to low for me! for as low as it is ride is not bad i have not adjusted any thing set front to lever 6 and rear to 4 both need to be firmed up a little most bumps are not bad but hit a couple that put the frame on the ground and got a little tire rub up front (ouch!) going to bring the front up 1" with the qa1 extender eyelids and the back 2.5" with a 1.5 lift shackle in place of the installed 1" drop shackle hoping that gets me where i want to be

currant drop after it settled.... slight cali lean
