School me on tire pressure please....

On my truck, it came stock with 275/45/20 Goodyear Eagle II. Max pressure in the door jamb says 44psi. Whats a good normal pressure to run for everyday driving?
Thanks,
Nick

My truck came with the 275/55/20 stock.
The door jam says to place 30 psi in all 4 tires.
That's what I have been running for the past 30,000mi on my GDY Eagle LS tires. They still have about 15-20K left in them as far as tread goes.
The more psi you run in wide tires, the more likely you are to start wearing out the middle of the tires tread for the ones on the rear. You can run 32-35psi in the front if you want. I would keep no more than 30psi in the rear though.

I would run 32 lbs. for normal everyday driving. If you ran 44 lbs., your tires will wear prematurely in the center of the tire tread. If you plan on going to the track to race, lower the rear tire pressue to 25 lbs.

My tires have a max psi of 50, but right now I think I'm running around 40-42 in the front and 38 in the rear. Running 45-50 all around gave a very harsh ride. Didn't have any wear problems though.

With a 44 psi max pressure the most I'd put in would be 40 psi. You have to allow for increases in pressure due to heat and friction (driving).
Like a couple of other guys here, I like close to max psi, but for handling purposes more than anything else.
