Default Relocating Battery under backseat?

Has anyone put their battery under the backseat? I've seen posts of back under the truck but I was thinking of putting an Optima battery under the backseat. Buick and Cadillac have been doing for years....

Those batteries are usually expensive. They are better sealed, and have connections for vent hoses to vent the gasses outside of the passenger compartment.

But I guess it could be done. I've never seen somebody do it.

Actually those batteries aren't too much more expensive then the rest. They do have a vent tube on them.

I dont see why you could not mount the battery in the cab, on a few of the Mercedes Benz models that i work on at work have the battery mounted under the rear seat and vented with a small clear hose to the out side, also one with the battery mounted under the passenger side front seat, you cant even tell its there cuz it mounts flush in the floor and the carpet covers it. Also a few models that have them mounted in the trunk under the trunk carpet. good luck!

That's cool. I wasn't aware that the Optimas had vent tube connections.

Not for sure on vent tubes on Optima batteries. I know Delco makes batteries with vent tubes for sure.

I drive it in the winter and thought it would be better under the seat vs under the bed with snow packed in there.

I'm just trying to make room for a dedicated nitrous fuel system. I have a meth fuel cell at the left front and need to make the battery go away so I can put the nitrous dedicated fuel cell where the battery is.
