well went to have my steering shaft fixed today. They had one of them RcSb regency's out on the spinning display. So i go take a look.Salesman comes over asks if i'm interested i said i could be.He says she could be all mine for 44k i said what that is crazy. Then he tells me it has the Iron block 5.3 not the aluminum one an how the iron block is so much better. It was a nice truck had 20 inch foosh rims leather fully loaded, dash to match the paint(black),black carpet.billet grill, roll pan with the SS vents an exhaust threw them. But that is Just fukin crazy 44k.I said i would be back later.hah yeah right. What are these people thinkin.

Didnt they make an aluminum 5.3 block but it is rare.

I think they put it in the early SSR and the Buick Rainier SUV thing.
I also think it was rated higher HP then the iron block.

the aluminum block 5.3 used in the full size trucks is a 310hp h.o. engine (rpo L33). it is only available in the extended cab 4x4 1500 series trucks and only as an option. they don't all come with that engine. it has also been put on limited availability. they have put a stop on ordering them a few times because of too many orders. it is currently available again though. unless you find a regency that's a 4x4 extended cab 1500 you won't be finding an aluminum block in there.

All regency rcsb trucks have the 4.8. IF you get a new excab rst they come with the 5.3.
