I tried the header wrap thing on a metal intake that I had previously and it seem to actually hold in the heat, basically heatsoaking the pipe... It took it longer to cool down.... ABS plastic pipes seem to cool down much faster... Just my .02

that or use aluminum... I went to a plastic style intake, with a fast reacting IAT sensor...

I used aluminum tubing and then wrapped everything from the box to the TB. I remember someone on here giving me **** over it(cough, cough, Cody, cough, cough) saying that it was somewhat a watse but after reading my IAT's, the temp was like 17+ degrees cooler than the outside temp @ that time.
Does it help..........maybe, does it hurt.........no.
Just some food for thought........

So your saying that your IATs were colder than the outside temperature?

Yes. Well let me clarify this........(unwrapped)if it was 60 degrees out and the IAT temp was 90 degrees(at the maf),(wrapped) if it was 60 degrees out and the new IAT temp is now 73 degrees. What I did was look @ my IAT's with HPT before wrapping the intake system then wrapped it and looked @ my IAT's after its was wrapped and the conclusion was it was at least 17degrees cooler than before @ that givin temperature...........

I'm trying.......
