question on an intake
#1
i got a volant and i got a custom made 4 inch tube instead of the regular one so i can get more air... however i dont want it to get too warm cuz i want the coolest air inside how can i keep this from heatin up since its close to the motor.... header wrap??

I tried the header wrap thing on a metal intake that I had previously and it seem to actually hold in the heat, basically heatsoaking the pipe... It took it longer to cool down.... ABS plastic pipes seem to cool down much faster... Just my .02

I used aluminum tubing and then wrapped everything from the box to the TB. I remember someone on here giving me **** over it(cough, cough, Cody, cough, cough) saying that it was somewhat a watse but after reading my IAT's, the temp was like 17+ degrees cooler than the outside temp @ that time.
Does it help..........maybe, does it hurt.........no.
Just some food for thought........

that or use aluminum... I went to a plastic style intake, with a fast reacting IAT sensor...
