What I did was look @ my IAT's with HPT before wrapping the intake system then wrapped it and looked @ my IAT's after its was wrapped and the conclusion was it was at least 17degrees cooler than before @ that givin temperature...........

I'm trying.......

Gotcha, that makes more sense, did you notice any heat soaking issues? Like if the you stopped for like 10min then started it up and went driving? That was the problem I was having....

Like was there any diffence between moving versus stopped......????? If so, yes, but very little. The IAT's would rise a little but then stabilize. It still wouldn't reach as high as the unwrapped box.

Kinda, like when you sitting in the staging lanes.... You start it move it foward then stop it, repeat 4-5 times.... My old intake that was wrapped got up to 130's sitting in the stagging lane waiting to run on a 90* day...

I read your post again on the heat soak, if you drive for a while then turn your truck off, of course would take place.......like anything else would get heat soaked because the hood is shut and trapping in all the hot air. But after driving for a while the IAT's and intake system would eventually cool off again.

Well at the track I let the truck cool down completely, drive to the staging lanes with a cold engine and then push the truck throught the staging lanes until it was time.

Also guys, remember too that when the truck is running, it's pulling in air so that will cool the intake system off...........the IAT's are a lot cooler than leaving it unwrapped........
Some of this wrap prevents 90% of heat from transfering into whatever your trying to keep cool.
