question on an intake
#11
Yes. Well let me clarify this........(unwrapped)if it was 60 degrees out and the IAT temp was 90 degrees(at the maf),(wrapped) if it was 60 degrees out and the new IAT temp is now 73 degrees. What I did was look @ my IAT's with HPT before wrapping the intake system then wrapped it and looked @ my IAT's after its was wrapped and the conclusion was it was at least 17degrees cooler than before @ that givin temperature...........
I'm trying.......

Kinda, like when you sitting in the staging lanes.... You start it move it foward then stop it, repeat 4-5 times.... My old intake that was wrapped got up to 130's sitting in the stagging lane waiting to run on a 90* day...

I read your post again on the heat soak, if you drive for a while then turn your truck off, of course would take place.......like anything else would get heat soaked because the hood is shut and trapping in all the hot air. But after driving for a while the IAT's and intake system would eventually cool off again.

Also guys, remember too that when the truck is running, it's pulling in air so that will cool the intake system off...........the IAT's are a lot cooler than leaving it unwrapped........
Some of this wrap prevents 90% of heat from transfering into whatever your trying to keep cool.
