Buy a set of feeler gauges Auto Zone or Napa will have them. About 5 to 10 bucks don't remember. Then you slip the right size gauge between the tip and the electrode.
here you go http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...98&prmenbr=361

You find the right size like 35 lets say. You know on the plug how there is a tip and a piece of metal? Try to slide the gauge between them if it does not fit you softly force it to widen the gap. If the gap is to big then turn the plug over and tap it on a hard surface to make it smaller. then start over again.

Yes you can use NGK do a search to find the right one. I'm at work or I would look at mine, that is what I use but I shoot nitrous and have to use them.

Dude, I know you're pissed at Oreilly's but go up there and tell them to order you 2 more of the TR55's and they can usually have them the next morning at like 10. It will save you a lot of trouble.

I'll tell you from experience at least 10% or more pre-gap plugs are off by a big amount. I always check them anyway. When you are trying to get EVERYTHING right on your ride you will want to start checking them. (Not to be taken as a put down) Just info.

Well if you want to save some money like I did, you can buy a little gap tool there for 99 cents. It is a round thing with the measurements on it and a hole in the top. It might not be as good as a feeler gauge set but it works. All of mine out of the box were at .055, so just stick the thing on the end of the spark plug in the hole on the round measuring thing and open it up just the very slightest bit (so little you won't even be able to tell it moved) and it should be about .057. Try to get it right the first time because it is harder to close the gap then to open it. I know it is hard to explain how to use the tool on here, but they MIGHT be able to show you if they aren't too dumb!!!

Oh pick up a thing of anti seize lubricant like 99 cents to put on the threads. Don't put it on the first 2 or 3 threads that go in though just to be safe. And a warning, the hardest plug took me 15 minutes, it was the back one on the passenger side. It was a bitch. Maybe because I don't have many tools. Anyone have tips for doing this one? Oh yeah don't overtighten the plugs, mine had a tapered seat, I don't have a torque wrench, so I guessed and did them until they were just snug. Oh yeah I meant to get some of that electric grease **** to put on the wired end of the plug, but I forgot. It's only 99 cents, right next to the anti seize if you want to use it. Hope you plug swap goes smoothly.

Yep, plug #8 ( 8 if I remember right) is a ***** if you don't have the right tools/extensions.....

Cash, just curious, from whom did you get plugs already set at 55? Would save some time......(even though i'd still check)

I thought they were all pretty close to .055. But now that I think about it, maybe they were more like .050. I apologize if I was wrong. I think I might have been thinking of the OE plugs that were all at .055. I am losing my mind, dude.
