in the last 5 years i had 3 manual cars that i daily drove 02 z28, 03 zo6 and currant 01 z06 that i drove 2 years weather permitting as much as i could i had my fill and bought my 04 rcsb for a daily it make me enjoy my car more honestly, i found myself at times just not wanting to deal with the clutch but had to since my wife dont drive a manual and shes wont drive me f350 crew cab diesel

rally cant say where to start at? i never really have a game plan i just empty my wallet as i find parts i want then just at some point get them on the truck lol

Best place to start in my opinion is where you want, and what you can afford.

For me, it was maintenance items, then a used k&n intake, then e fans and an aluminum rad, then a cam, then a 14b with 4.10s and 33s, then a P1SC etc etc. I mean honestly all of that took me 2-3yrs, but I was (and am) building an MR2, so it's hard to dedicate tons of money to the truck. Where ever you find the best deals and wanna spend the money is where you should
start.

My last truck was a 99 RCSB with a 4.8/NV500/3.73 gears. I didn't mind daily driving it at all, I thought it was fun. Then again prior to that my daily was a 94 Z28 for 12 years with a T56.

Wow $875 to control a 6l80e? Woof, no thanks! I did read the T56 swap regrets thread, I probably will just keep my truck an auto and enjoy my manual Camaros...

What all is needed for a 4l80e swap? I found a 2wd one locally out of a wrecked truck for $650.00.

3. Flexplate (not always)
4. Driveshaft work
5. Crossmember
6. Wiring the ISS and repin the harness
7. Tune with segment swap

I kind of honestly hope I will get away with just having some better guts in a 4l60e. I don't plan on tracking the truck, and the motor is gonna be a smallish cam in a L33. Looks like the route I am going to attempt.
My truck's setup currently is 3.73 gears with a Trutrac, Airaid MIT with the factory air box, 1 3/4" longtubes and dual exhaust (Speed Engineering), with a 4.8. So at least in my boat I am just looking for a little more get up and go, but as it is my daily and I have two Fbodies I am working on, no forced induction in my future. I still want something I can just put 87 in, and I guess after some reading on here, just put in D and putt down the road haha.

I never had a 4l60 go out on me on multiple rides. The 07 did punish it pretty bad but it lived. All the other trucks were fine even loaded but I don't beat on my rides every time I possibly can like some people do. I drive normally and nail it occasionally when the need arises.
