Default Oh Poop...

Cracked the driver's window open to let in a little air on the ride home from work (it was drissling rain and I have the ventvisors), and I heard a little pop. So I put the window down and went to put it back up to listen again and heard the window regulator cable snap....dammit. Luckily it didn't start pouring until I got home and got the window up by hand. Sucks that I'm broke and now I have to pick up a window regulator tomorrow, when I planned to spend the weekend with the wife and daughter doing fun, inexpensive stuff. Just did 4 tires and front brakes on the wife's car 2 weeks ago and have been procrastinating on doing both of our tune-ups and oil changes due to low funds and time... (mods have been put on the waaayyyy back back burner)

OK, end rant

My 99 did the same thing while back. I drove around for like a month with vise grips in the door holding the window up. I finally found a regulator on eBay for $40 bones.

Got the part...$155 my price from the dealer w/o the motor. I considered the ebay thing, but I wanted to get it done fast, and I've heard of a few guys having their ebay ones snap shortly after install...guess it's luck of the draw. Think I'll pop the ventvisors out while I'm in there...I never really liked the way they looked, but they are functional. I can always pop them back in if I want to, they just slip into the window channel.

Well, time to get to work so I can take my little girl to Babie's R Us to spend some gift certificates. The wife decided that she wants to stay home as she's feeling a little off for some reason...that's cool...going to the store with a cute 13 month old is like a chick magnet lol. (not that I'm looking to pick up any girls, but it's always fun and an ego boost to flirt...ssshhh )

Man, the driver's side window is so much faster than the passenger side now...I have a funny feeling that I'll be replacing that reg in the future too. While I was at it, I decided to pop the hood and removed most of the blue wire loom I had under there...I left it on the hoses for my vacuum guage and the positive lead from the battery for my Infinity Basslink. Not really my taste anymore.
