Im not sure how many of you have seen the kit you can by from GMPP, but basically you can by the new camaro shell from Gm (front fenders, hood, cab, doors, truck, the whole body basically, and add your own stuff to it (motors, axles etc) But it says the car does not come with a vin number so you can never licence it for the road. BUT could you get the vin from a wrote off Camaro and put it on the kit car and licence it with a rebuilt title?

Don't know for sure, but going to say no. They are unibody right? Would think you would have to have the shell of it to build to get a title. Isn't it close to like 10 grand for it anyways? If you are going to build it to be street legal and all the things you would have to go through, in the long run I would see it being cheaper buying one with a title already

i looked into this a few years ago, from what i remember you go down to the DMV and register for a title, i believe the car has to be checked out, kinda like Tech at the track. So you pay some money and a little time and that is it.

I think it is more intended for a drag racer, who is just going to strip the car anyway and start from scratch. This way it is alot cheaper and easier. For 7k I really don't think its a bad deal. And getting a VIN and title isn't that hard, just take a trip down to the DMV and they inspect it.

Agreed. It wouldn't pass emissions nor safety, I'm thinkin no airbags. Unless Pamela Anderson comes w/. you.
So I can't see DMV givin approval. Just a guess. Unless, you slide one by from( as said) a wreck. Long as they don't know, it might be doable.

Cowboy the body is called a body in white. Its basically intended for BIG MONEY racers who would never use stock parts to build race cars.
If you want to go down that road the interior will cost you, and the front suspension will be problematic for all the pices.
I would wait till you can get a wrecked Camaro or G-8 to have enough parts to get started. Then personally I think a new camaro would still be cheaper in the end. Plus registering it will not be a problem.
Dynacorn sells the 69 bodies for 12K. A used 75-79 Nova can be had for less the a 1000, and your 3/4 way there for the car. Interior is easy on old cars, and re-pops won't hurt to much. Plus much of the Nova stuff works in the interior. The suspension is 100% interchangeable.
Plus it will be worth about as much as you'll have in it so win win.
