Need help removing Water pump

I did something similar, except I used a chain wrench with a long handle that I wedged on the ground or frame or something (can't remember, it was a while ago). I used an old piece of belt wrapped around the pulley to avoid the chain digging into it, you can see the belt in this pic:

An air chisel with a blunt bit and hammer on the edge of the nut. A second or 2 and it comes loose. BTW it is not LH threads.

That did it! That and a second set of hands got it right off. All fixed now. Does anyone know the book rate for changing a water pump? Should we compile a list of general maintence threads and make it into a sticky?

i took a piece of steel about 3 feet long and 2 inchs wide and drilled 2 holes in it and bolted it on using the bolts that hold the bell on.

i used a monkey wrench, when i hit it semi hard it slipped , when i whacked it hard a few times with a soft faced hammer it sliped a little then just came right off

it took me 2 -3hours to change my waper pump seals, but i didn't know what i was doing and could figure out what hoses to pull off, if i had to do it again it would only take 1 hour

I used double sided tape on the pulley and a strap wrench and the cresent.
