Default Question on changing 2-4 band in 4l60e

Ok guys, i have a 2007.5 4L65E and will be removing the motor to do a cam swap and was wandering if it is possible to change the 2-4 band if i remove the pan and pump assembly. There is nothing wrong with my 2-4 band, would just like to upgrade to the Alto Extra Wide Carbon band.

Nop the bellhousing and pump have to come out..if your going to change the 2-4 band to a wideband id also recommend a new low reverse drum or else the outter edges of band will burn..

Thank you for the quick reply, i kinda figured the drum would need to be replaced. There goes that option. What about replacing it with a New OE band, would the current drum be ok?

Yes can use a oem borgwarner band..but while your in there might aswell check all the frictions and change out the sprag to a borgwarner double caged and a better sunshell(sonnax or the beast)

I currently have the Sonnax Smart Shell and Smart Tech housing kit with input shaft. I completely went through the trans at 90k miles. Not due to going bad, just for longevity reasons. It pretty much has every Sonnax upgrade along with the Transgo shift kit. I will be removing the pump to add a Sonnax Heavy Duty pump spring which i didn't add before. I did unfortunately put OE clutches, Steels and Band in it. I ran out of money on it then lol. I will check them while it is out. I would like to put an OE band in it again at the very least. I have 115,000 miles on it now. The trans has never missed a beat and would like to keep it that way since i will soon be having roughly 410HP/410TQ at the crank when i do the cam swap. I really didn't want to take it all apart since i will only have 2 days to get it back together when i do the cam swap since it is my Daily.

The oem borgwarner are the best frictions imo..how many frictions are you running rightnow? And the borgwarner HE band is real good run that on alot of my builds
