Default Sell the lift for performance mods?

Like many folks, I am pretty fickle when it comes to modding vehicles. My latest urge has been to sell the lift/wheels/tires and put the money into performance mods (I’m thinking a set of Dynatechs and a cam) put the stock wheels and tires back on the truck and go for the whole sleeper angle.

I like the lift, and it definitely makes the truck unique, but the increased turning radius gets on my nerves in the city, and with my schedule, I’m not really able to go find places to take it off road.

Now with the Crew Cab, I realize it would take a lot more than headers and a cam to go fast, but I figure with full exhaust, a torque specific cam for the weight and a re-tune, I might be able to get high 14’s.

So what do you think?

14's with a cam and headers would be easy. I ran a 14.9 with 33's on and no tqm and shift points and some timing.

Thanks man, believe me, I'd like to, but I'm a little short on the patience and spousal budgetary negotiating skills needed to pull that off.

Odds are I'll leave it as is.

Im selling mine for more hp. Its alot harder to get those big tires moving.Just tell her that you are going to take the lift off and use the money for something else on your truck. It worked on my girl. And believe me i get in a fight alot for all the money i spend on my truck. I told her that the money has already been spent so whats the difference if i use it on my truck again.

That's my approach as well. If it ends up with no net cash out the door, she'll be fine with it.

Tough call, but my opinion is to sell the lift and beef it up under the hood...I'm still a fan of some different wheels than stock though, really sets the truck off. (Thanks tdrumm for planting that seed in my head which grew into a set of JGP's and Toyo Proxes )

I say both. I'm shooting for 12's and I m running 32's. and it about time for some new tires, so Im planning on some Swampers. Trust me it looks cool running 13's with DR's on the back, and mudders up front

Yup, but my 05 z71 L33 with 3.42's stock was close to 14's. I ran 15.7 with a tune in it at 4000FT asl. So a CC with a cam and LT's will be in the 14's with ease.
