Well, I had a really rough day today and though I would share. I play alot of softball and on the weekends I play in good size tourney's up here in MD. We played three games today and won all three games. Thats the good part. The bad part follows: In the second game, me playing right field, had a ball hit in between right field and right center. I though it was closer to me and I didn't see the right center take off for the ball, so not thinking twice I went for it and we collided. This is when I bruised a rib. We both get up and all is ok, both a little hurt but still playing. Next, after that inning is up. I get up to bat, hit the ball off the pitchers leg and goes to third. I am running to first and I hear my first base coach say DUCK! So I put my head down a little and the next thing I know I can't move my body!!! I got knocked the f out!! The most weirdest feeling I have ever felt. I got hit sqaure in the temple on my left side. I fell straight down, cracked/bruised my rib, popped my left wrist out of place, my right arm out of place and my jaw popped out of place. I don't ever wish that on anyone it was so wierd. I blacked out and coming too my eyes were fluttering and I remember trying to move my arms and couldn't. So I layed there for a little while, got back up and played that game and designated hitter the next game as I realized I couldn't throw anymore after a ball was hit to me and I tried to throw it and it hurt real bad. So, since I just started my job, well three months ago or so, I don't have insurance so I can't go to the hospital to get checked out. Luckily my face is swolled up so atleast I am pretty sure its not just swelling up on the inside too. I keep getting these tinging feelings in face; think theres a problem??? j/k Well that was my day fellas, I think I am gonna invest in a helmet and be the only one wearing one in softball. arrggh..

I have been playing baseball/softball since I was 5 yrs old and have never heard of someone taking so much punishment. I have accumulated a broken arm, fractured cheekbone, and several pulled muscles but never all in the same play! Did u get all the bones put back in place? Hope ya feel better
p.s.- The tingling is perfectly normal

They popped out and back in so it just hurts. I am saying f it and I am off to the hospital, pain is getting worse in my head. I'll let ya'll know.

Getting knocked out from a blow to the temple area of the head deserves observation by a doctor. Bad things can happen if your brain swells

 

Damn man, that's no good. About 4 years ago I was hit by a good sized fishing boat on Lake Hamilton in Arkansas. I broke three ribs and had a collapsed lung. I was in the hospital for two days.

I was winded after walking about 15'. Took around 6 weeks to be fully healed. Rib injurys suck!

 

Well I am back, 4.5 hours later, cat scan and x rays all came back ok. They scanned my brain, x rayed my jaw and my ribs. Nothing broken, just bruised. So all is ok for now although it doesn't feel like it. I still have a sharp pain in my jaw intermittent but they said nothing is wrong. Anyway, thanks for the concern.

 

I know exactly the pain/disorientation you are talking about!

I got jumped by 4 guys a grade lower than I in highschool and out of shear panic I was doing really well against all 4 (all but 1 was shorter than me). Then 2 cars full of guys pulled into the parking lot and they all jumped out and started wailing on me. I was being swung around by this bigger guy and when i stopped they started kicking me. I grabbed the next leg that kicked me and tried to bite the **** of out it but got kicked in the temple and that's all she wrote.

I remeber grabbing the leg and going down for the bite then next thing i know I am sitting on the curb with these 2 chicks and there is no one else around. I didn't even realize what happened or that I had been knocked out till the next day I was so dazed.

Glad to hear it is nothing major but I bet you are sore for awhile
