I still need to do a bit more research but green diesel engineering has really good feedback so I may go with them. I would really like to find tuning software for it and be able to do things my self but I need to do some more searching. Right now I’m gonna work on catching up on its maintenance. Two glow plugs need replaced in it as of right now but I’ll probably do all 6. Also the ground wire for the glow plug control module I just repaired as it was loose and very corroded. Also got some special oil and a filter to do the oil change on it today. And yes it’s the common rail diesel. Same motor that comes in the 300 Mercedes as well as some Sprinter vans.

 

So changed the oil today then took the Jeep for a two hour drive to pick up some other Jeep wheels. Noticed the gas mileage dropped after the oil change and read that that’s fairly typical with diesels for the first couple thousand miles. Got some 18” jk wheels with 255/70/18’s on them (32’s) should look super nice on this thing once the lift is on and it’s sitting right. Also cleaned the air filter and got about a half pound of dirt out of it. Immediately noticed a huge improvement in power and fuel economy from that. Side note, vcm scanner works on it. Peak boost I saw was 32.4 minus the 14.5 atmospheric pressure it sees with the engine off that’s 17.9lbs. I wanna say these are supposed to run 20lbs stock but I gotta look into it some more.
