Default Leaking Cab Vents

Well had the bed off to do a fuel pump upgrade and saw the cab vents i had always had a leak in the back so i finally found out where it was coming from what a **** poor design IMO ha. So I bent some sheet metal and pulled those suckers off its a closed top with an open bottom for the pressure to escape what do ya think! also got the amp bolted in the back seat!

I've had a leak I could find either...just walked to the garage and the damn vents are barely hanging on. Leak found.

I kinda thought those vents had a purpose. Otherwise, when you turn the heater/AC on to non-recirculate mode, how does air leave the cab?

Ferocity your absolutely right they also allow pressure to exit the cab when you close the doors, that's why they are open to the outside on the bottom

So does the HVAC not work as well now that they are blocked off?

No it works just fine air can still flow through the cab without building pressure because on the bottom of my cab vents it's open it actually has more air flow than stock
