Oh yeah I get it, they had the right motor with the right mileage but it was a different year than they had it listed. Hopefully they get you all set up and squared away despite their mistake.

Yup thats exactly what happened :/ ayy noooo this sucks kinda...
but the guy said that the motor i have has 66,xxx miles but its out of an 04
and that when he gets the truck he will check the mileage for the l33
But if it has a shitton of miles ill just stay with the lm7 :/

Either motor will be tons better than the V6. If you do keep the LM7 though i would at least mill the heads .030 to bump up the compression some. The 862's will flow fine for what you want to do with the truck

I'd check the vin and make sure it's a 5.3L. Those wrecking yards can be shady...

Yeah thats how i know i'm suppose to have a L33 and not a LM7

He means on the engine you have, since that block was used for both the 4.8 and the 5.3.

How can i find out for sure? Taking off the heads and looking at the pistons?
I think i'm gonna keep the lm7

take a spark plug out and get a drinking straw. scrape the straw accross the piston deck and make sure its a dished piston. It should have a little lip around the edge of the piston, if you don't feel a lip then its most likely a 4.8
