HVAC Controls Malfunction - Stays on full heat
I've had and intermittent problem with the HVAC controls that is now happening almost daily. . . If I start out with the truck on heat (cold mornings), then switch to cold vent, the HVAC continue to blow hot air. . . with the temp **** on full cold, and the flow control on vent or any other positions.
Usually if I turn the engine off, and restart, it is OK again. Has anyone else had to deal with this one? What is the fix?

Had that **** happen to my 04 GMC Sierra when I had it. It sucks and trust me, it will be a recurrring nightmare. The dealership changed out what they call an a/c recirculating switch or relay. I think thats what it was, I will have to check my serivce documents. Mine went out and they replaced it and then about every month it would go out again.

Anyone else? On my 01 Silverado, It will blow highly heated air when just on vent, so I'm not sure its related to the a/c cycling switch. I'll have to look that one up in my manuals.

Happened on my truck when I pulled and replaced the engine. I found a ground strap on the back of the engine block which I forgot to replace. I suggest you make sure the block, body, frame, and battery are all strapped together for a good ground.
