Good work on this months article. After leaving us hanging on the previous one, I didn't know what to expect.
Any chance we could get some more detailed info on your air temp numbers? I'd like to see more info on the pre and post intercooler temps along side the temps reported by the relocated IAT sensor.
Thanks
Richard

GM High Tech Performance is a must read magazine for us owners of GEN III trucks. Most of the stuff deals with Fbodys, but most parts interchange, so its relevant.
In this months issue, Mr. Ulaszek finished up his Radix install on his 5.3 truck. Article had dyno numbers and some good info on air temps. He installed sensors before and after the radix intercooler, so we can see how well it cools.

Thanks Tex,
That post sure grabbed my eye
Glad you liked the article. I will be doing a tuning article in an upcoming issue and I will be using the thermocouples to test a couple of ideas.
Are you looking for temps under specific conditions?
Thanks again
John

Hey John, thanks for replying, I hoped you would. I am extremely interested the reading your getting from the thermocouples compared to the readings the PCM is getting from the relocated IAT sensor. I found your comparison between the temps pretty interesting. I've noticed my PCMs IAT readings respond a little sluggishly and think its partly due to the location and partly to heat soak. Its not uncommon for me to see IATs keep rising after a run before they start to fall.
If you don't mind, I'd just like to see some raw numbers of your readings under different conditions. It would help to see whats really happening compared to whats the PCM is being told. I've seen my IAT readings climb to 170+, which probably means they are actually higher.

Goshawk,
I was was a Jet Engine mechanic in the Air Force, so I am really grateful I can keep you guys entertained even the slightest bit. Glad to hear you guys are getting GMHTP in Germany, sometimes its hard to pickup on the newstands stateside, but we are working on that.
BigTex,
I dumped as much as I could into the latest article as far as data goes, and I plan to continue to discuss this is future articles, but as I get more data I will keep you guys updated.
